SALT LAKE CITY — Goodness isn't hard to find if you're looking for it and especially if you're making it.

Each week, our readers share stories of times someone has showed them kindness or times that they have been able to lift another person's mood.

On taking care of strangers:

Jill D.

"Boarding a flight home from Las Vegas, I started experiencing a familiar pain due to liver stones. Besides extreme pain I was having breathing issues due to diaphramic seizures. A lady next to me asked if I was OK and offered me some over-the-counter medicine. Politely declining, we continued on to SLC. However, when we landed I knew I was in serious trouble and was in need of assistance. She could see I was struggling and quickly and kindly took charge. She retrieved my luggage, talked to the gate employees for a wheelchair and took me to my waiting husband who took me to the ER. "She was my angel and helped even though she was catching a connecting flight to Montana. She didn't hesitate to put a loving hand on my shoulders as I cried and assist every step of the way. I will be forever grateful for her kindness."

On reaching out to new neighbors:

Brynn C.

"We moved to a new neighborhood and a couple down the street invited us over for dinner about a week after we moved in. We became fast friends and we have gotten together to exercise together or have playdates with our kids almost every week since then! Because of this positive experience, I am starting to brainstorm people to invite over for dinner who I want to get to know better! It's amazing how even one new friendship in our new place has made a huge difference and has helped me be confident and branch out."

On no longer being stranded:

Erin B.

"I flew from Korea with the kids and was stranded when we touched down in Travis AFB (California). A total stranger saw me crying and drove all of us to a car rental place in Napa — a full hour away. She only let me pay her with a hug and said every morning when she wakes up, she asks Jesus to put her in the path of helping someone. Angel."
