GOTHAM — The continuing trend of releasing teasers for trailers escalated this week with the latest tweet from “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ” director, Zack Snyder.

On April 15, Snyder tweeted the following:

Confirmed 4.20.15 #BatmanvSuperman@IMAX special teaser screening events. Limited space. RSVP http://t.co/TasYGlJGighttps://t.co/fnxFIERUlv — ZackSnyder (@ZackSnyder) April 16, 2015

Embedded in the tweet is a 20 second tease which reveals the Superman suit, the Batman suit, the Superman logo, and then finally, the Batman logo. Snyder, in the same tweet, also directed fans to a website where they can reserve tickets to see the entire trailer at a local IMAX theater on April 20 — and for the record, the Utah tickets have already been snatched up.

Fans reactions to the marketing strategy were obviously mixed, including everything from:

Ugh enough with the Teasers of Teasers @ZackSnyder#BatmanvSupermanhttps://t.co/3K2jV7e8TQ — Andy Signore (@andysignore) April 16, 2015

to

"@ZackSnyder: // #BatmanvSuperman teaser https://t.co/UhuTHAaK6H" SOLD. IN. YES. PLEASE. — Christina Ochoa (@christina_ochoa) April 16, 2015

As someone who admittedly tried to get tickets last night, only to come up short, I still find myself torn on the idea of teasers for tickets to trailers. On the one hand, an IMAX trailer event provides the best possible sampling experience for fans, but on the other, the idea of making fans jump through hoops to get content seems a bit condescending, doesn't it?

But what do you think? Did you get tickets for the event, are you waiting for the online release, or are you just overloaded on the entire superhero genre in general?

Let us know in the comments or email me so we can chat about it on the upcoming Flix Junkies episode.
