LAYTON — A woman in Layton awoke to find the people who were supposed to be caring for her were robbing her instead, police said.

On April 11, the victim woke up to two people holding her down in her home in Layton.

Police identified the couple as 31-year-old Sarah Eversten and 30-year-old Hunter Haynes, who were allegedly caretakers for the victim. Police said after they held her down, they duct-taped her and then ransacked her home, stealing credit cards, money and medication.

The victim declined to talk to KSL, but a neighbor said the victim is a cancer survivor, disabled and on oxygen.

Eversten and Haynes were found and arrested in Knoxville, Tenn. Officers are working to get the pair extradited to Utah.

The suspects have also been charged in Davis County with several felonies, including aggravated burglary and theft.

Court records show both suspects have a criminal history, including theft and possession of a controlled substance.
