SALT LAKE CITY — With or without Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn, the show will - and must - go on.

The Utes face a tough BYU team that has cracked into the AP Top 25 poll and ranks tenth nationally in total defense.

The spotlight in practice today was on the quarterback battle between Jon Hays and Travis Wilson.

Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham addressed the issue, saying that both quarterbacks are "competing well, doing a good job. It is to be continued - we still have two more days of on field work, and then we will make a decision after that."

While the coaches will make their decision about which quarterback will start against BYU on Thursday, we won't know who it will be until the first offensive series when either Hays or Wilson trot out onto the turf at Rice-Eccles.

Which one would you choose? A guy that went 6-3 as a starter in 2011, winning six of the last seven games? Or do you already start preparing for the future, handing over the reigns to a freshman quarterback that has a ton of potential?

My opinion is that the Utes should start Hays, allowing Wilson more time to develop, but what do I know, I actually thought Jordan Wynn would be able to stay healthy this season.

"I feel like I'm a lot better player this year, and I'm hoping to get my chance to prove that," quarterback Jon Hays said after practice.

Check out the interviews with Jon Hays, Coach Whittingham, and a fun interview with Trevor Reilly in the player above. And yes, I asked him how he got the nickname, "Rattlesnake". You're welcome.
