SALT LAKE CITY - With two new recruits and a recent transfer from Dixie State, Utah's quarterback situation for 2012 looks promising.

Ute insider Brian Swinney (Twitter: @InsideTheUtes) from insidetheutes.com joins Mike Grant and Robert Jackson to discuss the different scenarios Utah fans can look forward to next season.

Jordan Wynn sat out most of the 2011 season due to a shoulder injury suffered late in the first half of the Utes' 31-14 loss to Washington. Wynn is unlikely to be ready to play in the spring, but hopefully will be ready to go next fall. Best case scenario is that his shoulder heals and that he takes over the starting role come fall camp.

Other Utah quarterbacks in the mix:

Jon Hays - improved throughout the season with simplified game plan. Knows the position and has starting/game experience.

Griff Robles - moved from quarterback to linebacker, then back to quarterback due to Wynn's injury. With incoming recruits, Robles likely moves back to defense.

Travis Wilson - recruit from southern California. Moves well in the pocket. Utah's long term future, but could use some time to develop. Most likely will redshirt in 2012.

Chase Hansen - recruit from Lone Peak, Utah Gatorade Player of the Year and Deseret News Mr. Football. If Jordan can't go in the fall, Hansen could have opportunity to shine as a true freshman.
