RUSTON, La. — The Utah State Aggies will at the very least be co-WAC Champions after beating the No. 20 Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in overtime.

The Aggies took a quick lead on the Bulldogs with the help of who else? Kerwynn Williams and Chuckie Keeton.

"Utah State is a "player's" best friend this year. A quiet WAC leader Opening a can at LaTech today.#undervalued," tweeted Chris Fowler of ESPN, @cbfowler.

"Utah State has not defeated a ranked team since 1991. Aggies well on their way today," tweeted @TheUpset.

"#UpsetAlert: #UtahState up 27-3 on No.20 #LaTech, 11:34 3rdQ. ChuckieKeaton14-21/257yds/2TDs pass & 9car/71yds/TD running," tweeted @ESPNCFB.

While the Aggies jumped out fast and went into the half up 17-3 and then in the third they quickly went up 27-3.

Nearly everyone thought the game was over when the Aggies went up 34-10 with 5:20 left in the third. But the Aggies started having some issues late in the half and the Bulldogs started moving the ball.

Tech's QB Colby Cameron started hitting receivers and their running backs started finding holes. The Bulldogs starting chipping away at the score and were in the redzone down 10 points with six minutes left when Aggie line backer Jake Doughty picked off Cameron in the end zone.

"Jake Doughty's pick in the end zone should seal it for USU. PK's boy is a hero," tweeted #PKKinahan.

While Kinahan's intentions were noble, he could not have been more wrong. The La Tech defense stalled the Aggies and forced a punt and with just a couple of minutes left the Bulldogs found the end zone.

The Aggies got the ball back but couldn't get a first down and had to punt it away. Cameron and the Bulldogs fought down the field and kicked a field goal to tie the game as time expired.

"OVER TIME!!!! IT'S NOT OVER!!! LTU!! My Dawgs!!" tweeted @CMarentic.

"I told Gameday to go to Ruston, but did they listen? USU 41, LTU 41. Overtime," tweeted @jonfmorse.

The Aggies got the ball first in OT and Williams run it down the Bulldogs throats and it didn't take long to hit pay dirt.

"Kerwynn putting the team on his back in overtime," tweeted @DennisdaMenace0.

La Tech got the ball and the Aggie defense played tough and forced a fourth-and-three. The Bulldogs went for it, but the Aggie D was just too solid.

"Bulldogs run it on 4th and 3 and it's STUFFED!!! #USU knocks off No. 20 Louisiana Tech, 48-41, in overtime. Aggies now 9-2," tweeted @CacheSports.

With the stop the Aggies improved to 5-0 in the WAC and are guaranteed at least a share of the WAC title and most likely they'll be the sole champions. The Aggies take on the 1-9 Idaho Vandals next week and as long as they win they will stand alone atop the WAC.

"I hate overtime... Except when #usu finally wins the WAC!" tweeted @nathanzaugg.

"#USU with a big overtime win against #20 ranked Louisiana Tech! Now... Can we be ranked by the end of the weekend?" tweeted @mattlenio.

The Aggies have a good chance to crack the top 25 and as long as they beat the Vandals next week USU will end the regular season with just two losses. Something the Voice of the Cougars, Greg Wrubell, found impressive.

"Yes, BYU has had a close-but-not-quite season, but USU--oh, my: lost by two in Madison, lost by 3 in Provo. Two plays, 7 pts away from BCS?"
