GOTHAM — It is a well-established understanding that the Internet is run by cats. Meaning, if you want page views, your best bet is to post videos and pictures of cats.

Paradoxically, the Internet and real life conversations are full of discussions about cats vs. dogs, usually with dogs coming out on top.

To simplify the argument: If you want a pet who will love you unconditionally and is always happy to see you, get a dog; if you want a pet who will demand to be treated like royalty and will generally ignore you unless they want something, get a cat.

Even more simplified: dogs are friends, cats are jerks (which I don’t subscribe to, for the record).

This video takes the “cats are jerks” argument to a whole new — and frankly awesome — level by using a cat to parody super villain Bane from “The Dark Knight Rises,” mask and shearling collared coat included.

I never would have said there was a connection between Bane and cats until I saw this video. I almost feel lame-brained for not immediately seeing the similarities, because the parallel to the alleged stereotypical cat and the raw, controlling power of Bane is absolutely perfect.

The frosting on the cake of this deliciously hysterical video is that BaneCat appears unbothered by his well-executed and awesome costume. He’s just kicking back, confident in his power. And really just waiting to be served his next meal, judging by his girth.
