The Cardinal had a shot at the end of the game, going 82 yards and milking just over seven minutes on the clock. But Stanford failed to convert on fourth and two at Utah's 6-yard line, sealing the victory for the Utes.

"Huge win for the Utes!!!" tweeted Dave Ramsay. "I may not sleep tonight!! So proud of this team, no quit in them!!"

"So proud of my Utes for taking down #5 Stanford," tweeted Derek Payne. "It's a great day to be a Ute."

Coming into the game, many thought Utah didn't stand a chance against the Cardinal, who featured one of the toughest defenses in the country. However, Utah was resilient, bouncing back after a heartbreaking loss against UCLA.

"Best offensive game plan I've seen from Utes since The Sugar Bowl," tweeted Dustin Tate.

One of the thoughts on Utah fans' mind following the game was on Travis Wilson and his nine interceptions this year against Oregon State and UCLA.

"If Travis Wilson doesn't throw 9 picks in 2 gms, Utes could be undefeated with wins over 3 ranked teams including top 5 team," tweeted OchoZaco. "Much improved!"

"Utes are a few plays away from being 6-0,"tweeted Parker Holt. "Showing they can go toe to toe with and PAC team this year."

Ultimately, Utah fans' wish to #ShockStanford came true as the Utes finally picked up their first signature win in the Pac-12.
