This is the American dream, folks. Enes Huskic, owner of Toasters, immigrated to America from Bosnia in March 1996. He started into the construction industry, worked hard to learn English and saved his money. And when the right opportunity came, he took it, self-funding his first Toasters restaurant location at 151 S. 200 East in downtown Salt Lake City.
In the 13 years since, Toasters restaurant has become a favorite for locals and visitors with three locations in downtown and a fourth opening this year in the Cottonwood Corporate facility off 6200 South and 3800 East in Cottonwood Heights. Enes is dedicated to providing only the best quality of product, from all the ingredients to the bread, which explains the name Toasters. See, each sandwich gets a quick toast before they're served.
Enes loves interacting with his customers and making sure they're happy because he's focused on providing a great experience at Toasters. He has grown to a staff of approximately 30 employees between all three locations. One of the secrets to his success, Enes says, is creating a healthy and happy work environment for employees and customers.
He carefully watches the menu at Toasters to check what's selling. Everything tends to move equally, with the exception of Turkey Avocado, a customer favorite. There's also roast beef, buffalo chicken and vegetable sandwiches. You can also buy fabulous well-known European sweets here. Before adding new sandwiches to the menu, Enes tests them out with staff for months to make sure they're ready for customers. In addition to sandwiches, there's also soups and salads. The most significant item they've added recently is wraps, and their customers love them!
Enes regularly gets requests for franchise opportunities with Toasters, but if it doesn't make sense, he won't do it. He credits his business success to the time he spent behind the counter growing up working in his family business.
