Gunnison beats Emery at the buzzer in 2A Semifinals

(Cedar City) - Colby Caldwell made a 3-pointer at the buzzer as Gunnison defeated Emery 49-46 to advance to the 2A state championship.

It's the first championship appearance for the Bulldogs since the 1998-99 season.

Caldwell finished with 15 points and made three 3-point shots in a game that was close throughout.

No. 4 Gunnison will now play No. 1 Wasatch Academy Saturday at 7:30pm for the 2A state championship. They defeated 2nd ranked South Sevier 48-29 in the other 2A semifinal game.

Dillon Wilstead had 15 points for Emery in the loss.
