SALT LAKE CITY -- The day after the Tea Party Express made a stop in Salt Lake City, a prominent voice of conservative talk radio was in town with a similar message.
Sean Hannity broadcast his national talk show from KSL studios Wednesday.
He told a small gathering before the show that the Tea Party movement is legitimate and will withstand mounting attacks from its opponents on the left.
"We've got veterans, we've got stay-at-home moms, people who really don't like the direction of the country. They're speaking out and they've been compared to terrorists, Tim McVeigh-wannabes. They've been called un-American. They've been called every name in the book. Now, the latest attack is that these people are violent," he said.
Hannity was also in Salt Lake City as part of a book-signing tour. He describes his newly-published book, "Conservative Victory," as a call to action to defeat liberal candidates in the November elections.
Hundreds of people packed the Borders Books and Music store in Murray to get a glimpse at the No. 2 talk show host in the country.
When Hannity said, "We get a vote in November," the crowd of people that does not support the recently passed health care reform measure cheered loudly.
It was definitely a pro-Hannity crowd at Borders. Some fans admitted they camped out overnight to meet Hannity.
A woman waiting to meet Hannity said, "He Hannitized us. We're former Democrats."
Before Hannity started taping his show for the FOX News Network, he gave a preview of what he would talk about: "It's about taking our country back. We're moving in the wrong direction with record debt and record deficits."
