Grilled Turkey Burgers
Yield: 8 ¼ Pound Burgers
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Cook Time: 35 Minutes
Total Time: 45 Minutes
Ingredients:
3 Vidalia Onions, Julienned
1 ounce Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Light Brown Sugar
2 pounds Ground Turkey
½ Cup minced Shallot
1 ½ Tablespoon Worcestershire
½ Tablespoon Applewood Liquid Smoke
½ teaspoon Smoked Salt
½ teaspoon Pink Pepper, ground
2 teaspoons ground garlic
1 tablespoon fresh Thai basil
Directions:
Heat a large saute pan over high heat and add olive oil. Right before the oil hits the smoke point add the onions and brown, lower to a medium/medium low. Sprinkle with sugar and caramelize, cook stirring occasionally for 20 minutes. Set aside. Combine remaining ingredients and form into patties. Season your grill and heat to 400*F. Create crosshatch marks and close the lid to cook to an internal temperature of 165*F. About 15 minutes. Serve on your choice of bun or lettuce, top with onions, and cheese if you’d like. Any mild white cheese will do. Enjoy!
