PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Washington State safety Shalom Luani has been arrested after being accused of breaking a man's nose during a dispute outside a pizza restaurant in Pullman.

Pullman police say the senior was arrested Wednesday morning on suspicion of second-degree assault, a felony, and released.

Police Commander Chris Tennant told The Spokesman-Review that the 22-year-old Luani became verbally abusive when his order took too long and then he struck the victim.

Luani was an honorable mention All-Pac-12 player in 2015, his first year with the Cougars.

The football program declined to comment, saying it was a team matter.
