Pepperdine beats Saint Mary's for the second time, 69-63

MORAGA, Calif. (AP) — Lamond Murray Jr. scored 16 points and Stacy Davis had 13, including four free throws in the final 24 seconds, to lead Pepperdine to a 69-63 win over Saint Mary's on Thursday night, handing the Gaels their first home loss of the season.

The game was tied at 30 at halftime and the biggest lead for the Waves was the final score.

Jock Landale's tipin with 27.7 seconds left pulled Saint Mary's with 65-63 but Davis answered with two free throws and then made two more after rebounding Landale's miss with 14 seconds left.

Amadi Udenyi added 14 points for the Waves (15-10, 8-6 WCC), who beat the Gaels 67-63 in their first meeting. Pepperdine shot 58 percent (15 of 26).

Evan Fitzner had 15 points for Saint Mary's (19-3, 10-3), who fell 1½ games behind Gonzaga.

The Gaels, who are 15-1 at home, were 4 of 19 behind the arc and 5 of 14 from the foul line.
