JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Tamarico Wilson scored 31 points and grabbed five rebounds as Alcorn State beat Jackson State 72-64 on Saturday night.

Wilson was 11 of 15 from the field including three from distance for the Braves (9-12, 7-3 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Reginald Johnson added 10 points and Octavius Brown had eight points and nine rebounds. The team hit 47 percent from the field and 85 percent from the line.

Alcorn State led 32-28 at the break. In the second half, Jackson State took a 59-58 lead with 3:07 to play. Wilson responded with a 3-pointer that put the Braves back on top 61-59 and Alcorn State led the rest of the way.

Chance Franklin scored 19 points and five rebounds for the Tigers (12-11, 7-3). Raeford Worsham added 17 points and five rebounds.
