NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Tulane has fired coach Curtis Johnson after the Green Wave finished their third losing season in four years under the New Orleans native.

Johnson went 15-34 and took Tulane a bowl game in 2013. It was the Green Wave's first bowl appearance in 11 years, but Tulane has won only six games combined the last two seasons.

The Green Wave finished a 3-9 season Friday night by wasting a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter against Tulsa on Friday night and lost 45-34.

Tulane is also in the process of looking for a replacement for athletic director Rick Dickson, who announced he would step down next year.

The school said in a statement Saturday it would complete its search for a coach after a replacement for Dickson has been named.
