CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina freshman swingman Theo Pinson is recovering from foot surgery.

Pinson had surgery on his left foot Monday in Charlotte, North Carolina. He broke a bone in the foot in the Tar Heels' win at Wake Forest in January, sidelining him for 10 straight games and 14 of the last 19.

The 6-foot-6 Pinson averaged 2.8 points and 3.0 rebounds for UNC, which returns nine of its top 10 scorers from a team which reached the NCAA Sweet 16. The school says Pinson is expected to be ready for the start of next season.
