SEATTLE (AP) — Washington coach Chris Petersen has spent a couple of days analyzing what went wrong in the Huskies' 30-27 overtime loss to the Ducks. He acknowledges he would like a "do-over" of the final minute of regulation that ended with walk-on freshman Peyton Henry missing a 37-yard field goal attempt that sent the game to overtime. Petersen's decision to get conservative in the final minute was a surprise considering how aggressive the Huskies were while getting into field goal range.

UNDATED (AP) — The willingness of universities and colleges to modify, amend or re-do the contracts of their football coaches has helped drive the rapid escalation of salaries in the sport. Many contracts include huge raises and have hefty severance payments and buyout clauses. In many cases, experts say, schools are unnecessarily aggressive in extending a coach, too quick to reward a small sampling of success, out-leveraged by agents, and driven by the fear of having to find a replacement.

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Broadcaster Bob Robertson is retiring as a voice of Washington State sports. The Hall of Fame broadcaster says age is behind his decision. Robertson was in his 52nd year calling Cougar athletics. He was the play-by-play voice from 1964-2011 then moved over to the analyst chair for the past seven seasons.
