MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee Brewers left fielder Ryan Braun was scratched from the lineup due to right side tightness before Thursday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Brewers have been cautious with Braun, who had lower back surgery in October and a procedure on his right thumb the previous October. He's had several scheduled days off to rest.

Braun had a tough May. He missed four games with right wrist soreness, two games with lower back soreness and two with neck soreness.

Braun is batting .321 with 14 home runs and 46 RBIs. His 11-game hitting streak was snapped in Wednesday night's 8-1 loss to the Diamondbacks.
