A Mexican official says some Mexican nationals were among the survivors and those who died on a tractor-trailer found at a San Antonio Walmart. Mexican Consul General in San Antonio Reyna Torres says consulate officials are working to identify the survivors and notify family members. Guatemala's foreign ministry, meanwhile, says at least two Guatemalans were on the abandoned rig. The two survivors told officials they crossed the border by foot at Laredo.
A U.S. official says the death toll from people found in the back of a sweltering tractor-trailer in the parking lot of a San Antonio Walmart has risen to 10. Thomas Homan, acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told The Associated Press that two people died in a hospital. Eight dead bodies were found in the truck.
