Negotiations in Congress to raise the nation's borrowing limit are up against a deadline of Thursday. If the limit isn't raised by then, the government will no longer have authority to borrow to pay its bills.

More federal employees seeking assistance at food banks

Many federal workers coming into the food banks have traditionally been the ones to donate canned goods. But with the federal government shutdown entering its fifteenth day, some are on the other side and receiving items for the first time.
