SMITHFIELD, Utah (AP) — Police say two northern Utah boys have been released from a hospital after being burned when a neighbor threw a liquid on them.
Smithfield Police Chief Travis Allen said Monday a 3-year-old child who had burns on his face, neck and chest has been released from a hospital. A 5-year-old boy burned on his back in the Friday attack was released from the hospital Friday.
The Deseret News reports the boys were injured when 32-year-old Smithfield resident Jason Keith Summers walked onto his neighbor's property and threw a substance similar to drain cleaner on the boys. Police have not determined what the liquid was and have sent it to the Utah State Crime Lab for testing.
Summers faces charges of child abuse and other crimes. Demler's attorney was not immediately available to comment Tuesday.
