IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho Falls man has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a young girl for three years.

The Post Register reports that Bryan Lee Brown pleaded guilty to lewd conduct with a minor under 16 years old, and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Brown was convicted of sexually abusing a girl from age 9 to 12. He was also accused of physical and psychological abuse, including threatening to hurt her and her mother if she told anyone about the abuse.

Brown was arrested in October after the victim revealed his abuse to her school counselor.

Brown must pay $4,000 in fines and a $5,000 civil penalty to the victim. Brown must also register as a sex offender.
