OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A man accused of leaving his 5-year-old daughter in the freezing cold on an Ogden college campus is facing charges.
Ogden police arrested 41-year-old Adrian Justin Sanchez on Friday on one count of child abandonment.
Sanchez is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
Authorities say surveillance video shows Sanchez and his daughter outside a closed daycare facility at Ogden-Weber Tech College just after 5 a.m. on Oct. 9.
In the footage, Sanchez appears to tell the girl to sit on the ground. He then hands her some blankets before leaving.
A campus security guard found her more than two hours later.
The child was released into her mother's custody.
Police say staff at the school's two child care facilities did not recognize Sanchez.
