SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say a woman was left in serious condition after she fell while hiking in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/1UnKXvA ) that Unified police Det. Ken Hansen says the 25-year-old victim was hiking at Lisa Falls with her husband on Sunday when she slipped and fell. She suffered neck and head injuries.
Emergency personnel had responded after the woman's husband called for help. Authorities say they managed to stabilize her as rescue crews prepared to bring her down the steep trail.
The woman was taken to a hospital and her condition was expected to improve.
