KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) — A hiker from Minnesota has been rescued after falling 100 feet from a cliff in northwestern Arizona and spending 24 hours stranded with serious injuries.
The Kingman Daily Miner reports (http://bit.ly/1TKqT7N ) that 25-year-old Amber Kohnhorst of Rochester, Minnesota, suffered head and back injuries after falling from an Arizona Strip cliff while hiking the Rose Cliffs Trail on Friday afternoon.
Mohave County sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter said Tuesday that Kohnhorst "doing well in spite of her injuries."
Owners of the Cane Beds Inn where Kohnhorst was staying noticed that she hadn't returned from the hike by Saturday morning and called authorities.
A Department of Public Safety helicopter team heard Kohnhorst screaming for help and took her Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah.
