EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Police have identified the body of a man found in a slough in Eugene on Sunday.
Eugene police identified the man as 46-year-old Idaho resident John Anthony Caverly.
The Register-Guard reports (http://goo.gl/oeXlXf ) the Lane County Medical Examiner says Caverly drowned in the slough.
Detectives are investigating how he came to be in the water.
Eugene police spokesman John Hankemeier says the death is likely to be ruled accidental.
Caverly's body was discovered Sunday morning behind a gas station.
