BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Volunteers and others fanned out across Boise and Ada County last week to take a one-night count of people living on the streets.

KTVB-TV reports (http://goo.gl/QrO4yn) the exact numbers won't be released until May. The numbers will provide a snapshot of how many Idahoans are living on the streets and in shelters.

The annual report helps Boise and Ada County get the resources they need to help those dealing with homelessness.

The survey looked at where homeless people stayed on the night of Jan. 27.

Officials say there were 755 people living on the streets and in Ada County in 2015, and 838 in 2011.
