RENO, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say nobody was injured but some guests were evacuated when a fire broke out in the laundry room of the Peppermill resort in Reno.
Battalion Chief Mark Winkelman of the Reno Fire Department said his agency was called to the hotel a little after noon on Friday.
He said a sprinkler and some employees with fire extinguishers helped put out the fire, which was contained to a portion of the ceiling and ventilation ducts of the laundry room. He said there was also some minor smoke damage in the laundry room.
Winkelman says the southwest tower of the Peppermill was partially evacuated as a precaution, but people were allowed back in by about 2 p.m.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
