GALESBURG, Ill. (AP) — A Galesburg school has started an anti-bullying club that wants to inspire acts of kindness.
The (Galesburg) Register-Mail reports (http://bit.ly/1ypTcKU ) the Take A Stand Club is located at Lombard Middle School. It's been running an initiative to encourage students to perform random acts of kindness. Seventh grader Katie Dunbar started the club. She says that as of Friday 525 stickers have been bought for $1 each pledging an act of kindness.
The effort has spread on social media. Dunbar says one person from Japan pledged to perform an act of kindness. One act at the Galesburg school included writing a note to the janitor to thank him for cleaning.
The money will be used for future club projects.
