LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas doctor has pleaded not guilty after being accused of supplying drugs to partygoers and undercover police officers at elaborate theme parties on the Strip and at his suburban home.
Andrew Scott Martin, 47, an orthopedic surgeon, entered his plea to 10 felony charges on March 4. He was indicted in February and accused of giving away, trafficking and possession of drugs.
Authorities say an informant connected undercover officers to Martin's parties in 2013 and 2014.
The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners suspended Martin's medical license days after his home was searched on a warrant in September.
Police claim they found marijuana, steroids, psychedelic mushrooms, cocaine and ecstasy at the Henderson home.
Police also said officers first attended a "Frost N Furs" party in December 2013 at Martin's home in Henderson.
In 2014, undercover operations were carried out at an "Eyes Wide Shut" party in January at a Trump Hotel suite on the Strip and at a "Neon Kitties" party in April at the doctor's home.
Police said undercover officers met with Martin at a hotel in August and September and discussed drug offerings at his next party, to be themed: "Something Special Sexy ... Wonderful." Police raided the party on Sept. 20 before it started.
The doctor has told police that he was not a drug dealer.
Martin's attorney Peter James Christiansen declined to comment on the case.
Martin got his Nevada license in 2005 after earning a medical degree in 1995 from Howard University.
