SALT LAKE CITY — In case you have ever wondered which local business has the highest revenue in your state, an infographic has been created to detail it.

Philadelphia native Mike Simmons of Broadview Networks told KSL.com he created the map after seeing the recent Fortune 500 list. He said it sparked his interest because there are quite a few states not represented on the list.

Simmons created the map with data compiled from Hoover's database of company profiles. The top businesses for each state was based on the location of the company headquarters and excluded any subsidiaries or government agencies as well as companies with foreign offices, according to Business Insider.

The company with the highest revenue in Utah was Huntsman Corporation. Huntsman was founded in Utah as a global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated chemicals.

"I was very surprised by some of the companies, such as Microsoft or Amazon not being the largest in Washington," Simmons told KSL.com. "Some other notable exclusions — Apple, AT&T, Ford, Phillips 66, and HP. Of course, these are some huge companies, but because of the way we make the map, only one can be the largest in a particular state."

Were you surprised that Huntsman had the highest revenue in Utah? Which local company would you have guessed would be on the map? Let us know on the comment boards.
