SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) — A 25-year-old man has been arrested on accusations that he pistol-whipped people during a party south of Athol. The Bonner County Daily Bee reports Terry Clark of Coeur d'Alene was taken into custody Wednesday. Authorities say Clark became violent during the outdoor party last week and used a handgun to beat and injure partygoers.

AHSAHKA, Idaho (AP) — The Dworshak National Fish Hatchery is being recognized for making improvements that cut its energy use by 30 million kilowatt-hours per year. The Lewiston Tribune reports that the hatchery updated pumps, changed the way fish are incubated and raised, and installed new pipes. The resulting energy savings are enough to power 3,000 homes in Clearwater County.

KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) — A $1 million restoration project on a portion of famed Silver Creek in central Idaho is mostly finished. The Idaho Mountain Express reports that the project started last fall to restore Kilpatrick Pond to more natural conditions is done except for replanting that's set for the next two growing seasons. The work is intended to lower water temperatures and reduce sediment buildup.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Water has started to flow from a new $30 million spillway at Lake Walcott State Park. The new Minidoka dam spillway replaces a 100-year-old wooden spillway. The new section includes gates that can be operated remotely to control the water in the reservoir. With all 12 gates open, tens of thousands of cubic feet of water per second can flow to the agricultural communities in the Mini-Cassia region.
