(KSL News) Weber County sheriff's officials now know the identity of a woman who was found dead by a snowplow driver in the Huntsville cemetery. They say she is 26-year-old Noemi Rodriguez of Layton.
They are investigating her death as a homicide. Based on the evidence at the scene, investigators concluded Rodriguez was probably killed at the cemetery.
An eyewitness tells investigators he saw a dark, large vehicle, perhaps a pickup, with its lights on in the same spot just before midnight Thursday. Her body was found Friday afternoon by a snowplow driver.
Authorities are trying to piece together the events leading up to the death. They are looking for an acquaintance of the victim as a person of interest. He is 33-year-old Gutberto Heras-Corrales, also known as Gutberto Heras. He is 6 feet 1 inch tall with dark hair.
Investigators also are looking for two vehicles: The victim's vehicle is a silver 2000 Jeep Cherokee four-door wagon with Utah license number 911 NRS.
The other vehicle is a 2003 burgundy Ford F-150 pickup truck with Utah license number A969MZ. If anyone has any information about the victim, person of interest, or either of the vehicles, they should contact the Weber County Sheriff's Office at 801-395-8221.
