EPHRAIM, Sanpete County — A 46-year-old motorcyclist died after crashing head-on into a car Monday evening, officials confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

Jody Brown was traveling east on Ephraim Canyon Road shortly after 5:30 p.m. Brown was traveling on his motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he crossed over the center lane and struck a Toyota Camry that was traveling down the canyon, according to Utah Highway Patrol officials.

Brown, of Ephraim, was wearing a helmet, but suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, UHP said.

UHP is currently handling the investigation.
