DUCHESNE — There was an increased law enforcement presence at Duchesne County schools on Wednesday due to reports of a school threat, authorities said.
District officials were made aware that a student had allegedly threatened in a Snapchat post to bring a gun to Union High School on Wednesday, according to a Facebook post from Duchesne County School District.
District officials were not able to verify the credibility of the threat, according to the post. However, administrators are taking the threat seriously, the post said.
There will be an increased law enforcement presence at the school, officials said. There will also be an increased law enforcement presence at Roosevelt Junior High School as a precaution, school district officials said.
None of the schools have been placed on lockdown, according to the Facebook post.
The investigation is ongoing and officials asked anyone with information about the origin of the threat to contact the Roosevelt Police Department at 435-722-2330.
