Police identify woman killed in Salt Lake shooting

SALT LAKE CITY — Police on Friday released the name of a woman who was shot and killed Thursday afternoon.

Alicia Baxter, 33, was killed about 5 p.m. near 51 N. 800 West, according to Salt Lake City Police detective Greg Wilking.

Police found Baxter with a gunshot wound to the head. She was taken to a hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Baxter was seen in the area talking to three men, police said Thursday. Police have not announced any arrests as of Friday morning, and have not released details about a possible motive for the shooting.

Police were interviewing witnesses on Thursday evening, according to Salt Lake Police Lt. Jenn Diederich.

No other information about the shooting was available as of Friday morning.
