NEW HARMONY, Washington County — A 56-year-old woman is dead after her small pick-up truck rolled off the dirt shoulder on I-15 in Washington County Saturday.
The victim has been identified as Cheryl Renee Hartley of Hurricane.
Hartley was driving a truck south on I-15, just south of New Harmony, when it drifted left, then overcorrected right and drove off the road, according to Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Andy Battenfield. The accident occurred just before 1 p.m. Officials think high winds and construction could have been factors in the accident.
Hartley was ejected from the vehicle, and was found dead at the scene, Battenfield said.
Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
