GREEN RIVER — A person suffered critical injuries after a rollover crash on I-70 Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The crash took place about 7:45 a.m. on the freeway just east of Green River, Grand County Emergency Medical Services officials said in a Facebook post.

A car with a single occupant was traveling west on I-70 when the car lost control and rolled several times, officials said.

The person inside had to be extricated from the car and had serious, life-threatening injuries, authorities said. The driver was flown in a medical helicopter to St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, in critical condition, authorities said.

Officials did not provide any other details about the person, including name, age and gender.

Utah Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the crash, according to officials. No other information about the crash was immediately available.
