Fifth-graders show support for classmate with bone cancer

Anonymous

"My daughter came home frrom school saying one of the kids in her class has bone cancer. She was really heartbroken. All the kids wanted to do something special, so they put together this video of them singing 'Fight Song' by Rachel Platten, but with their own twist to make it special for Jackson. It's incredibly heartwarming to see this as a parent, and also heartbreaking since this could happen to anyone's child. We wish the absolute best for Jackson and his family."

"Our records clerks caught Officer Lofgran during a call detail the other day. A young mother came in with her small children to file a domestic violence report. Officer Lofgran helped watch over the children while this mother got the help she needed for that day. He spent hours on this call. Thank you for your service!"

Grocery bagger writes notes to cheer up customers

Becky H.

"I have always loved and appreciated the uplifting stories KSL covers and have one I would love to see shared with the community. It is a 16-year-old girl who is a grocery bagger. She was diagnosed with cancer when she was three years old, and it stunted her growth and left her with some additional medical conditions, but she is brightening people's days by the dozens. When she has spare moments at work, she writes personal messages on the paper bags that then get passed on to customers as they carry their groceries out. Her reason for doing it, as she shared with me, is 'because of my cancer, I want to spread goodness and kindness.'"
