TAYLORSVILLE — Police released the name of a 47-year-old West Valley woman who died after she was hit by two vehicles in Taylorsville Monday, officials said.

Tammy Colton was on her way home from work about 8 p.m. when she tried to cross the road to catch a bus near 1463 W. Taylorsville Expressway and was hit by the vehicles, the Unified Police Department said in a tweet.

The area was not well-lit and there was no crosswalk in the area, said Unified police detective Chuck Malm. It would have been difficult for drivers to see Colton or any pedestrians in the area, he said.

Colton died at the scene. Malm said the drivers who were involved in the crash were cooperating with investigators.

Eastbound 4700 South was closed at 1700 West for a few hours after the crash.
