HEBER — The search for a missing Pennsylvania woman continues but with a new lead. A Utah couple claims they saw 37-year-old Susan Bachman.

Bachman’s parents are traveling across the United States looking for their daughter. On July 4, Bill and Nancy Bachman said they were driving on I-80 in Pennsylvania to a psychiatric hospital when Susan jumped out of the car. They said their daughter had become suicidal, delusional and paranoid.

Marco and Louise Lopez said on August 10 at around 6:30 a.m., they saw Bachman walking along Daniel’s Canyon on U.S. Route 40. The couple said Bachman was wearing a thin skirt and hooded sweatshirt.

“We asked her where we could take her, and she said, 'Well, wherever you guys are going to,' ” Marco Lopez said.

Marco Lopez said the woman said her name was Susan, she was from Pennsylvania and she was traveling home. The couple dropped Bachman off near Soldier Creek, and she continued walking eastbound.

Thursday morning, the Lopez's said they saw a story about Bachman, including her photo, on KSL.com. They realized the Susan they picked up matched the photo and description of Susan Bachman.

“I could see her eyes and her hair was the same,” Louise Lopez said.

Louise Lopez said she can relate to Bachman's mother, because her own daughter went missing a few years ago. From mother to mother, she is offering her strength.

“I hope that she’s OK, she gets to see her daughter again. I wouldn’t want to be in that situation again,” Louise Lopez said.
