SOUTH SALT LAKE — A 66-year-old man with mental disabilities who had been missing for 24 hours was found Thursday evening.
Scott Benton went missing around 4 p.m. Wednesday in the area of 2400 South and 300 East. He has severe mental disabilities that keep him from caring for himself. He operates at about a 10-year-old cognitive level, South Salt Lake police said.
Sgt. Darin Sweeten said Benton was found at about 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rescue Mission of Salt Lake, 4630 S. 400 West. Sweeten reported that Benton was in good condition but was taken to the University of Utah Hospital for evaluation.
There is no indication where Benton had been overnight, Sweeten said.
