WEST JORDAN — Police arrested a woman they said led them on a chase then crashed her car, injuring two people.

Police responded to a robbery at the Apollo Burger near 7800 South and Redwood Road just before 9 p.m. Tuesday, according to Sgt. Joe Monson of the West Jordan Police Department. The robber had fled, but witnesses provided police with a description.

Officers spotted a man they said matched the description talking with a woman sitting in a car at a nearby 7-Eleven. They determined the car was stolen, according to a probable cause statement.

When officers tried to pull over the car, the woman driver fled southbound on Redwood Road. She crashed into two cars at the intersection of 10400 South, according to the statement. Two people were hurt, but information on the extent of their injuries was not available.

The woman continued driving westbound on 10400 South, according to the statement, before officers finally took her into custody.

The woman, Christine Alexandra Grijalva, admitted to stealing the car in Salt Lake City on Monday, according to the police document. She also had two outstanding warrants for her arrest.

Police initially believed the woman may have matched the description of a serial robber but later said she was not connected to those crimes.
