BOUNTIFUL — A paraglider was injured near the Viewmont High School "V" on Wednesday afternoon, police said.

The 38-year-old man crashed above the "V" on Forest Service land, according to a statement from Davis County Sheriff's Lt. Susan Poulsen. Emergency personnel responded at 12:44 p.m.

Because the crash happened about 6,000 feet, a helicopter was called in to help. Those in the helicopter found the crash site and assisted the patient, who was conscious at the scene.

The man was taken to an area hospital by medical helicopter. Poulsen said his injuries weren't life-threatening.

The crash is under investigation.
