PRESTON, Idaho — Police are asking for help identifying a man who may be suffering from amnesia.

The man, about 40 years old, walked into Franklin County Medical Center Thursday and sat down on the floor, police said. He does not know who he is, where he is if from or any other pertinent information relating to his identity.

He gave officers from the Preston Police Department a Colorado ZIP code, but the authorities they spoke with in Colorado did not have any information about him.

Police said members of the hospital staff examined the man and gave him an MRI. He did not have any injuries and the MRI did not find anything that would’ve caused memory loss.

The man spoke with detectives and started crying when they asked him about his parents, police said.

Police described the man as 5 foot 10, 170 pounds, with brown hair and a severely receding hairline. He has a grey goatee and wears glasses. He was wearing a grey T-shirt, a silver chain or necklace, jeans and high tennis shoes.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to call the Franklin County Sherriff’s Office at 208-852-1234.
