OREM (AP) — A woman was arrested after police said her 3-year-old daughter tested positive for methamphetamine.
Police say they received a call early Thursday from Orem Community Hospital about a woman who brought her daughter there and said the child had hit her head while playing on a trampoline.
Provo's Daily Herald reports a doctor told police the girl tested positive for meth and showed signs of meth impairment.
Investigators say 37-year-old Michelle Barrett was later booked into the Utah County Jail on charges of meth possession and child endangerment.
She told police there was meth lying on her bed when she used the drug the previous night and that she was concerned her daughter had possibly ingested some.
Police say the girl is recovering.
