SALT LAKE CITY — A man was charged for armed robbery after pointing a gun at a clerk and demanding money on three separate occasions, police said Thursday.
Munetadhir Al-Aetiaj, 21, robbed two separate Conoco Gas stations just 10 minutes apart on June 17 and a Smokies Smoke Shop on June 10, according to the Unified Police Department. During the robberies, he pointed a handgun at clerks and demanded money before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, investigators said.
Officers were called to the first Conoco Gas station robbery, which took place at 2187 W. 4700 South, at 8:02 p.m., and the second robbery, at the Conoco Gas station located at 4841 S. Redwood Road, at 8:12 p.m., according to the Unified Police Department.
The June 10 robbery took place at the Smokies Smoke Shop at 1901 W. 4700 South.
Al-Aetiaj is currently in jail on unrelated charges, according to the Unified Police Department. Charges were filed against him for the robberies by the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s Office.
