ST. GEORGE — Two people were in serious condition after a car pulled out in front of the motorcycle they were riding in St. George on Sunday, police said.
The driver of a Honda Civic pulled out in front of a motorcycle carrying a 19-year-old male driver and an 18-year-old female passenger near Ft. Pierce Drive and River Road at about 9:06 p.m., according to the St. George Police Department.
"A Honda Civic pulled from the parking lot of the Chevron gas station onto River Road directly in front of the motorcycle," a statement from the police department reads. "The motorcycle collided with the Honda Civic and both occupants of the motorcycle were thrown."
A preliminary investigation found the driver of the Honda Civic did not yield to the motorcycle, investigators said.
The two people riding on the motorcycle were transported to the hospital in serious condition, police said. Neither of them were wearing helmets at the time of the accident, according to investigators.
The driver of the Honda Civic was not injured in the accident, and charges against the driver are pending upon completion of the investigation, police said.
Investigators said alcohol and speed did not appear to be factors in the accident.
