SALT LAKE CITY — A 13-year-old boy was arrested over the weekend after police say he robbed a man at gunpoint.
Investigators were still looking Monday for a second juvenile also believed to be involved.
About 10:45 p.m. Friday, Salt Lake police were called to 746 S. Park St. (540 East) about a disturbance. Just as they arrived, two juvenile boys were spotted running from the area, according to police.
One of the boys, who police say is 13, was captured and arrested. A handgun was found near the area where the boy was caught, police stated. The second boy escaped, but investigators found a second handgun along the path he allegedly used to run away.
Salt Lake police believe the boys attempted to rob an acquaintance at gunpoint.
The 13-year-old was booked into juvenile detention for investigation of aggravated robbery, carrying a concealed weapon by a minor, fleeing and drug paraphernalia.
Police did not know Monday where the boys obtained the guns.
